Pearson Whiffin Education is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support a Year 1 class in Chatham, Medway. This full-time role starts immediately and runs through to the end of the academic year.
Whether you're a qualified HLTA or a highly experienced Teaching Assistant confident leading lessons, this could be your ideal next step.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver planned lessons and provide classroom cover in the absence of the class teacher

Support Year 1 pupils with their learning, both in groups and individually

Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Manage classroom behaviour and encourage pupil engagement

Work closely with the class teacher and support staff to raise achievement
Essential Requirements:
-
HLTA qualification or relevant experience leading lessons in a Primary School
-
Proven experience working with Key Stage 1 (KS1), ideally Year 1
-
Strong classroom management and child development knowledge

A positive, proactive attitude and excellent teamwork skills

A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
