We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics operation based in the Philadelphia area who are looking to appoint two Warehouse Operatives / Ground Handlers due to recent internal changes and increased activity. This is a hands-on, entry-level warehouse role within a temperature-controlled / cold-chain environment. The role is suited to individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable carrying out physical work as part of a team. Prior warehouse experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick, prepare, and process orders accurately in line with operational requirements
- Move cages, containers, and equipment within warehouse and refrigerated areas
- Load and unload vehicles safely using approved manual handling techniques
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards across the warehouse
- Use internal warehouse management systems following training
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times
Candidate Requirements
- Ability to safely perform physical job duties, including lifting, standing, and manual handling
- Comfortable working in temperature-controlled or cold environments
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
- Availability to work full-time hours, with flexibility for overtime when required
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Commitment to working safely and collaboratively as part of a team
Preferred (but not required)
- Previous warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution experience
- Forklift or powered industrial truck experience (training and site certification available)
- Experience working in fast-paced or high-volume operational environments
Hours & Compensation
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week
- Day shift schedule; occasional early starts from 6:00am may be required to support operational demand
- Overtime paid at time and one-half for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, in accordance with explaining the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
- Compensation up to $55,000 per year, depending on skills and experience
