Transport Planner – PM Shift

I am currently working with a well established, growing business specifically recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join their team on a permanent basis, working a PM shift at their Canterbury location.
This role plays a pivotal part in the transport department and is ideal for someone with a strong background in transport planning who is confident managing HGV operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Planning and scheduling HGV routes to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery operations
- Managing daily and evening transport plans, adapting to changes and last-minute issues
- Liaising with drivers and customers to ensure service levels are met
- Ensuring compliance with drivers’ hours, WTD, and transport legislation
- Monitoring performance and resolving operational issues during the PM shift
Key requirements:
- Previous experience in a transport planning role is essential
- Proven experience planning for HGV fleets
- Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and make decisions during evening operations
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with drivers and internal teams
