Are you detail-obsessed, great with numbers and genuinely excited by the idea of turning project drawings into real-world solutions? Looking to kick-start a long-term career in a business where you can grow, develop and become a key part of a high-performing team?
We’re working with a well-established, innovative manufacturer who are looking to bring in a bright, motivated Trainee Estimator to join their expert commercial team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone eager to learn, curious about how technical projects come together and keen to build a rewarding career in estimating.
Why this role?
Because you’ll be right at the heart of the project lifecycle — interpreting drawings, understanding client requirements and producing accurate, commercially astute quotations that shape real customer projects. You’ll be trained by experienced estimators and work alongside specialists across Sales, CAD, Customer Service and Communications… no two days will look the same!
What you’ll be doing
- Producing accurate, detailed quotations from architectural/technical drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities
- Working on a high volume of new, revised and repeat quotes of varying values
- Liaising across multiple internal teams to ensure every quote is correct, timely and fully aligned with customer expectations
- Speaking with customers to clarify requirements and ensure an exceptional service experience
- Supporting the sales team by providing fast, efficient updates and follow-ups
- Taking ownership in helping the department run smoothly and efficiently
This is a fast-paced environment where accuracy, pace and a brilliant attitude make all the difference.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need years of experience — just the right mindset and a genuine interest in building a technical/commercial career.
You’ll need:
- Strong communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
- A logical, methodical approach with the ability to interpret and work from technical drawings (training provided if needed)
- A solid technical foundation — either through education (e.g., engineering, construction, product design, manufacturing) or hands-on industry experience
- Strong Excel skills – ability to create and manipulate formulas
- Confidence working with numbers and multiple tasks at once
- Resilience, determination and a “get stuck in” attitude
- A flexible, team-focused approach and a willingness to go the extra mile
If you love solving problems, enjoy technical detail and want a role where you can grow and progress, this is for you.
