We are partnering with a well-established international retail and ecommerce business to recruit an experienced Trade Compliance Lead. This is a key role responsible for overseeing all import/export compliance activities and bonded warehouse operations, ensuring goods move efficiently and compliantly through the global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage import/export compliance and customs activities
- Oversee bonded warehouse operations and controls
- Ensure accurate customs declarations, commodity codes, duties and VAT treatment
- Liaise with HMRC, freight forwarders, customs brokers and courier partners
- Maintain compliant, audit-ready documentation and records
- Resolve customs-related issues and drive process improvements
- Partner with operational and commercial teams across the business
About You:
- Proven experience in trade compliance, customs, import/export, or international logistics
- Strong knowledge of bonded warehouse operations
- Experience dealing with HMRC and customs declarations
- Good understanding of commodity codes, duties, VAT, and international shipping processes
- Background within retail, ecommerce, fashion, or a high-volume distribution environment
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
