A rapidly expanding manufacturing business supplying products into the construction sector is looking to appoint a Technical Estimator as part of its continued growth.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment where priorities can shift quickly. The business is looking for someone who enjoys momentum, can juggle multiple enquiries at once, and brings a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to their work.
The role
Working closely with both customers and internal teams, you’ll manage estimating activity from initial enquiry through to final quotation, ensuring a strong balance between technical accuracy and commercial awareness.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing customer enquiries, drawings and specifications
- Producing accurate and timely costings for manufactured products used on construction projects
- Clarifying technical requirements with customers and internal stakeholders
- Managing multiple live enquiries while working to deadlines
- Maintaining pricing and enquiry information using internal systems
- Supporting ongoing improvements to estimating processes as the business continues to scale
What we’re looking for
This role will suit a driven, organised and people-focused individual who performs well in a busy environment.
- Experience in estimating, technical sales, or a similar commercial/technical role – we would consider engineers with pricing experience looking to move into a fully office based role
- A good technical understanding and confidence interpreting drawings or specifications
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Good Excel skills
- The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive, respectful and career-minded approach
- A relevant degree (such as engineering, manufacturing or a related technical discipline) would be advantageous but is not essential.
What’s on offer
- Competitive salary, which is negotiable, but most likely between £30,000 – £45,000, depending on experience
- Full-time hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
- A role within a business that is growing quickly and investing in its people
- Genuine scope for development and progression as the company continues to expand
- A collaborative, hands-on working environment
