French Speaking Safety Standards Advisor
East Kent – Hybrid
Up to £45,000 DOE
Full time – Permanent
A large, complex infrastructure organisation operating in a highly regulated environment is seeking a French Speaking Safety Standards Advisor to support the effective management of safety standards, governance and controlled change across its operations.
This role sits at the centre of safety assurance and plays a key part in ensuring that operational, technical and organisational changes are properly assessed, documented and delivered in line with regulatory expectations and internal safety frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a coordination point for safety governance and assurance activities linked to operational and organisational change
- Supporting the maintenance and development of structured safety frameworks aligned with recognised industry standards
- Collecting, reviewing and organising safety evidence provided by operational, engineering and delivery teams
- Managing and maintaining controlled safety documentation and reference material within a digital environment
- Reviewing change submissions to confirm safety impacts, risks and controls have been appropriately addressed
- Tracking approved change activity and supporting stakeholders through assurance and governance stages
- Providing clear, practical guidance on safety obligations, governance routes and assurance expectations
- Interpreting regulatory requirements and supporting their translation into internal policies and processes
- Engaging with internal specialists and external regulatory bodies where required
What we’re looking for:
- Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
- Qualified to Level 4 or equivalent, or Level 3 supported by relevant professional experience
- Experience working with safety, quality or assurance systems within regulated or high-risk environments
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to apply sound judgement
- Confident working independently and managing multiple priorities
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- High level of IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and document management systems
- Ability to produce clear, structured documentation
- Experience within transport, engineering or infrastructure environments is advantageous but not essential
- Formal safety or auditing training would be beneficial but is not a requirement
