We’re working with a leading engineering business who are looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join their quality team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a company supplying into highly regulated industries.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out inspections across electrical, electronic, optical and mechanical parts, from goods-in to final assembly
- Using a range of inspection tools such as verniers, micrometers and gauges to ensure components meet tight tolerances
- Correctly quarantining and recording any defective or rejected products
- Maintaining accurate inspection records and assisting with defect investigations and reports
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and making recommendations for process enhancements
- Calibrating and maintaining inspection equipment as required
- Working to strict confidentiality standards in line with industry requirements
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a machine shop/manufacturing environment working to tight tolerances
- Strong knowledge of inspection methods, including the ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T
- Confident in using standard inspection equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges) – CMM experience desirable
- Good understanding of electro-mechanical equipment, both theory and operation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive, ‘can-do’ approach with a focus on accuracy and solutions
- Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC level)
