We're recruiting on behalf of a growing specialist insurer with an excellent reputation for providing bespoke solutions across both residential and commercial property risks. The Role
This is a varied underwriting position where no two days are the same. You'll assess a broad range of residential and commercial property-related risks, applying sound judgement and technical knowledge to make commercially balanced underwriting decisions.
Working closely with brokers, legal professionals and internal colleagues, you'll deliver an exceptional level of service while helping to continuously improve products, processes and customer outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess and underwrite residential and commercial property-related insurance risks.
- Evaluate technical information and make balanced underwriting decisions within agreed authority levels.
- Produce clear risk assessments and pricing recommendations.
- Build strong relationships with brokers, solicitors and other professional clients.
- Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high quality and turnaround standards.
- Keep up to date with legal, regulatory and market developments.
- Contribute ideas to improve underwriting practices, products and business processes.
About You
You'll ideally have:
- A minimum of 3 years' underwriting experience within commercial insurance, or strong residential underwriting experience with exposure to residential developments.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- The confidence to assess complex risks and explain your rationale.
- A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.
- A genuine interest in developing your underwriting knowledge and progressing your career.

- Full-time hours (9:00am-5:30pm Monday-Friday) with part-time applicants also considered.
