Project Manager – 12 Month FTC
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a significant workstream within a high-profile strategic UK government programme. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering a complex, mission-critical project, working at the intersection of international stakeholders, government organisations, and industry partners.
As a key member of our UK team, you will act as the primary interface between our European Headquarters, UK government entities, delivery partners, internal departments, and a network of international suppliers and local contractors. This role requires exceptional leadership, governance, and stakeholder management skills, alongside the ability to navigate a multicultural and highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of a major project workstream, ensuring objectives are achieved on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Manage relationships with UK government stakeholders, delivery partners, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Apply robust project governance and reporting practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee supplier performance, contract delivery, and budget management.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, particularly those relating to IT systems, cyber security, logistics, and operational delivery.
- Coordinate international suppliers and local contractors to ensure effective collaboration and delivery.
- Produce clear project plans, status reports, and executive updates.
- Ensure compliance with government standards, contractual obligations, and organisational processes.
We're looking for someone who combines strong project delivery expertise with excellent stakeholder management and commercial awareness.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience managing complex UK government or public sector projects.
- Strong knowledge of PRINCE2 project management methodology (Practitioner certification preferred).
- Experience delivering IT or technology-enabled projects.
- Demonstrable expertise in supplier, contract, and budget management.
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and reporting.
- Ability to identify and manage IT-related risks, cyber security considerations, and logistical challenges.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders.
- Experience working across international teams and multicultural environments.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Desirable
- Experience working within regulated or secure government environments.
- Knowledge of government procurement and delivery frameworks.
- Experience managing multiple suppliers across international locations.
