Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an established and rapidly growing engineering and manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Maidstone.
Following continued expansion and investment, our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to take responsibility for a busy manufacturing operation, leading a team and ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, improving performance and driving operational excellence within a growing SME environment.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you'll take ownership of day-to-day production activities, ensuring resources, people and processes are aligned to meet customer demand and business objectives.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing multiple production teams through team leaders and supervisors
- Managing production schedules and operational priorities
- Driving productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitoring KPIs and implementing corrective actions where required
- Working closely with planning, engineering, logistics and commercial teams
- Ensuring quality, health & safety and operational standards are maintained
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, workflows and production output
- Managing performance, training and employee development
- Supporting change initiatives as the business continues to grow
What We're Looking For
- Proven Production Management experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing supervisors, team leaders and production staff
- Experience driving operational improvements and increasing efficiency
- Understanding of production planning, quality systems and manufacturing processes
- Ability to analyse data and use KPIs to improve performance
- Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing operation
- Commercially aware with a practical, hands-on approach
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems would be advantageous
- FLT licence preferred
- A relevant degree would be an advantage
