Pre Fabricator / Forklift Operator – Training Provided to Progress into Fabricator!
Paddock Wood – Own Transport ESSENTIAL
£25k–£32k (dependent on skillset)
Hours: 6:30am–4:00pm Monday–Friday (overtime available on weeknights and Saturday mornings)
A fantastic exclusive opportunity has arisen for a Pre Fabricator / Forklift Operator to join a successful, well-established organisation with a brilliant team culture, based in the Paddock Wood area. This role offers genuine career progression into fabrication for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working as part of a small, supportive team in a busy metal fabrication workshop using a variety of hand tools
- Accurately reading and working from technical drawings
- Supporting the full fabrication process and learning hands-on skills within a metalwork environment
- Operating machinery and power tools safely and efficiently
- Maintaining excellent quality standards while working to productivity targets
- Keeping the workshop clean, tidy, and safe
- Supporting wider team members as needed
- Carrying out Quality Control checks when required
- Measuring materials accurately to specification
- Always following all health & safety regulations
- Operating an FLT Counterbalance truck – a valid national licence and proven experience are essential
About You:
To be considered, you will:
- Have some relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hold a valid national FLT Counterbalance Licence with practical experience
- Be interested in mechanics/mechanical engineering – ideally shown through qualifications, education, or personal projects
- Bring a positive, upbeat personality and a genuine pride in your work
- Have the desire to build a long-term career within a stable and supportive business
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Be able to read technical drawings and take accurate measurements
- Possess good physical fitness
- Be enthusiastic, hands-on, and eager to learn
