We are working with a forward-thinking, growing business who are passionate about product innovation and continuous improvement. Due to expansion, they are now looking for an experienced Product and Process Development Engineer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
What you’ll be doing:
This is a varied and hands-on role, sitting between design, production and quality, and is perfect for someone who thrives on problem-solving, practical engineering, and making real improvements to products in the field. You will be:
- Investigating factory and field issues, getting to the root cause and implementing robust fixes
- Modifying and updating drawings, specifications and BOMs using SolidWorks
- Supporting value engineering projects, driving cost savings and improving quality
- Building and testing prototypes and trial builds in collaboration with the production team
- Working closely with supply chain and quality teams to ensure reliable, compliant products
- Keeping product data and documentation accurate and up to date
About you:
The successful EPD Engineer will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong SolidWorks skills, including 2D drawing discipline (BS8888)
- Experience in sustaining engineering / EPD within mechanical or building product assemblies
- Knowledge of materials and processes such as sheet metal, machining, coatings, joinery or glazing
- Comfortable with hands-on work, fixtures and prototype builds
- Confident communicator who can work cross-functionally and under pressure
- A relevant technical qualification (BEng, BSc or equivalent)
