Looking for a role where you can get stuck in, develop your skills, and be part of a genuinely supportive team?
We’re working with a well-established manufacturing business who are looking to bring in a Workshop Welder / Machinist to join their close-knit team. This is a hands-on role where no two days are quite the same – perfect for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in producing quality work.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll split your time across welding and machining, working on a range of fabricated components and supporting the day-to-day running of the workshop.
- MIG welding on mild and stainless-steel components
- Supporting machining activities (lathes, mills, band saws)
- Working from engineering drawings and technical diagrams
- Checking quality of finished products and ensuring high standards
- Collaborating with the wider workshop team to meet production targets
- Keeping the workspace safe, organised and efficient
(Full training on machining can be provided if you have a stronger welding background)
What we’re looking for
- Experience in MIG welding (essential)
- Previous experience in a manufacturing/workshop environment
- Ability to use machinery – manual lathes, mills
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Ideally qualification in mechanical engineering or similar
- A proactive, team-focused attitude
- Someone who takes pride in their work and wants to improve
Why apply?
- £30–32k basic + regular overtime available
- Monday to Friday hours – no weekends
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Supportive, down-to-earth team environment
- Genuine opportunity to learn new skills and upskill in machining
- A stable business that invests in its people
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, part of a team, and wants to build a long-term career in engineering/manufacturing.
