Mechanical Site Service Engineer
Based at Technical Centre, Wednesbury with UK-wide travel
£28,000 – £35,000 (for 40 hours per week) + overtime + progression
Are you a mechanically minded engineer looking for a role with variety, challenge, and the chance to work on complex building services equipment?
We’re looking for a hands-on Mechanical Site Service Engineer to join a specialist manufacturer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with proven mechanical assembly or site service experience—ideally working with products involving mechanical movement, heavy components, or complex assemblies.
What you’ll be doing:
- Installing, assembling, and maintaining bespoke Air Handling Units at customer sites across the UK
- Working with pre-assembled units, conducting testing, inspection, and quality checks
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues, refurbishing units (including replacement of coils, gaskets, fans, motors, and other components)
- Collaborating with Electrical Site Engineers and other team members to ensure smooth installations
- Liaising with customers, contractors, and colleagues professionally and efficiently
- Adapting to project changes while maintaining high attention to detail and safety standards
- Travelling regularly from the Wednesbury centre, including overnight stays
- Working overtime where available (paid above standard rate), offering significant earning potential
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in mechanical assembly, site service, or mechanical engineering roles
- Practical knowledge of assembling and installing complex equipment using hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings
- Flexibility to travel nationally, including overnight stays
- CSCS card and mechanical engineering NVQ or equivalent are desirable
- Full driving licence and ability to reach the depot daily (no personal vehicle provided)
