We're recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing specialist engineering business that provides temporary heating and cooling solutions to commercial and industrial customers across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Engineer to join an experienced team, where you'll receive hands-on training and mentoring while developing your skills across commercial boilers, chillers and mechanical plant.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll support the installation, servicing and maintenance of temporary heating and cooling equipment at customer sites nationwide.
The Role
As a Junior Engineer, you'll assist with:
- Installing, commissioning and decommissioning temporary commercial boilers, chillers, pumps, AHUs and associated HVAC equipment
- Servicing and maintaining temporary heating and cooling systems
- Supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes
- Diagnosing faults alongside experienced engineers
- Mechanical pipework modifications and plant room installations
- Emergency breakdown response once fully trained
- Completing service reports and maintenance documentation
- Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures
You'll gain experience working across a variety of commercial and industrial environments while learning from experienced engineers who will support your development.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, practical and keen to build a long-term career in HVAC engineering.
Ideally you'll have:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing & Heating, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Building Services or a related discipline
- Or a completed (or nearly completed) engineering apprenticeship
- Some practical engineering experience through employment, an apprenticeship or work placement
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and safe working practices
- Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Commercial Gas qualifications
- F-Gas Certification
- IPAF, PASMA or CSCS Card
- Experience working with commercial boilers, chillers or HVAC systems
- Experience within building services, mechanical engineering or facilities maintenance
