IT Engineer (Short Term Contract – 8 weeks)
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented IT Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role supporting the preparation, configuration, and deployment of IT equipment for our clients while ensuring the highest standards of quality, organisation, and customer service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering reliable IT solutions by configuring new equipment, maintaining accurate records within our CRM system, managing workshop inventory, and ensuring all equipment is tested and ready for deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and configure new IT equipment to meet client specifications.
- Install and configure end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripherals.
- Perform comprehensive quality assurance checks on all equipment prior to delivery.
- Log, update, and manage all work activities within the company's CRM system, ensuring compliance with established Service Desk procedures.
- Manage and maintain the off-site workshop and storage facility, including:
- Receiving and dispatching customer equipment.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ensuring all equipment is stored securely and handled correctly.
- Prepare equipment for shipment and coordinate deliveries to clients.
- Maintain high standards of organisation and housekeeping within the workshop.
- Work collaboratively with the Service Desk and technical teams to ensure efficient delivery of services.
- Follow company processes, documentation standards, and health and safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an IT Engineer, IT Support, Deployment Engineer, or similar technical role.
- Experience setting up, configuring, and deploying Windows-based desktops, laptops, and end-user devices.
- Strong understanding of PC hardware, peripherals, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience using CRM or Service Management systems to record work accurately.
- Experience managing stock, inventory, or IT asset management.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A methodical approach to troubleshooting and quality assurance.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
