Are you an experienced HSE professional looking for true ownership, variety and the chance to shape a growing function from the ground up?
Do you want to join a forward-thinking manufacturer where innovation, sustainability and people development actually mean something?
This is a brilliant opportunity to step into a hands-on HSE leadership role within an expanding engineering and manufacturing business that produces high-quality technical solutions for specialist markets across the UK and internationally.
If you enjoy autonomy, influencing culture, and embedding best practice in a business that invests in its people, this is the role for you.
The Opportunity
You’ll be the lead voice for Health, Safety & Environment across the organisation, working closely with senior management to modernise systems, support teams, and ensure a strong culture of safety and accountability.
This role suits someone who loves balancing strategy with day-to-day activity—someone who can shape the function long-term while also rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in audits, training, assessments and continuous improvement work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning, developing and improving the company’s HSE management systems and policies.
- Conducting audits, inspections and investigations, ensuring compliance and driving high standards.
- Leading risk assessments and RAMS reviews and supporting managers with practical risk-reduction measures.
- Delivering engaging H&S and environmental training across the business.
- Managing contractor safety and ensuring correct documentation and site controls.
- Driving sustainability initiatives and supporting ongoing environmental improvements.
- Reporting HSE performance and insights to senior leadership.
- Supporting ISO standards and wider systems development (e.g., 9001, 45001 and environmental frameworks).
What You’ll Need
- NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (essential).
- Strong HSE background within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience with audits, risk assessments, policy development and safety investigations.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach and the confidence to influence at all levels.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to embed a positive safety culture.
- An interest in environmental management and sustainability.
What’s In It For You
- Up to £50,000 salary depending on experience, plus generous benefits.
- A stable, growing business that values initiative, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Supportive leadership and opportunities to drive real change.
- Great benefits including private healthcare.
- A role with genuine autonomy and the chance to build and develop the function your way.
If you’re an HSE professional seeking a role where you can make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
