Pearson Whiffin Recruitment is recruiting for a Graduate Engineering Technician on a 12-month fixed term contract for a technically focused organisation based in Ashford.
This role is well suited to a Physics or Mechanical Engineering graduate who wants practical, hands-on experience within a disciplined engineering environment and understands the value of strong foundations early in their career.
The Role
You’ll support laboratory testing activities by carrying out repeatable mechanical and functional tests, accurately recording results and working to clearly defined procedures. Projects tend to run in focused phases, requiring consistency, attention to detail and pride in accuracy.
While fixed term, the experience gained in this role is highly transferable and regarded as excellent grounding for future engineering or technical positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing mechanical and functional testing following established methods.
- Accurate recording, checking and documentation of test results.
- Supporting structured test campaigns and project deadlines.
- Handling test equipment, samples and prototype components.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and controlled lab environment.
- Working closely with engineers and technicians as part of a wider team.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
- Comfortable working with numbers, data and written documentation.
- Organised, reliable and self-disciplined.
