Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are supporting a well-established UK engineering manufacturer delivering large ventilation and air handling systems across commercial and industrial environments.
We are recruiting an Electrical Service Engineer — however, this is not a purely electrical role.
While strong electrical capability is essential (and paid accordingly), there is a significant amount of mechanical assembly and installation involved on site. This role will suit an electrically qualified engineer who is happy to get fully involved in mechanical build and installation activity alongside electrical installation and commissioning.
If you are seeking a role that is 100% testing or panel work, this won’t be the right fit.
THE ROLE
You will support nationwide installation and maintenance of commercial air handling systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Electrical installation, wiring and testing
- Wiring motors to isolators and inverters
- Electrical fault-finding and commissioning support
- Mechanical assembly and installation of AHU components
- Supporting full system builds alongside mechanical engineers
- Acting as brand ambassador on site – commercial customers
UK-wide travel required with regular overnight stays (paid at overtime rates PLUS expense allowance)
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Level 3 electrical qualification
- 18th Edition certification (ideally)
- Strong hands-on electrical installation experience
- Experience with Air Handling Units highly desirable
- Comfortable undertaking significant mechanical assembly work (physical fitness essential due to size/weight of units)
- Valid CSCS or ECS card (preferred, not essential, but must be willing to undertake)
- Full UK driving licence, maximum 3 points
- Flexible, team-oriented approach
Higher rate (£22.50) aimed at engineers with proven AHU experience and confidence across both disciplines.
