Job Title: Compliance Manager
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
Location: Bury St Edmunds
Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen with my client, a market leader in Water Treatment services. We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager with sound technical knowledge of the water industry and treatment elements to play a key role in development and management of the company’s compliance function and quality management system.
Duties include:
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards within the water services industry.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of our facilities, equipment, and operations to identify any compliance gaps or areas for improvement.
- Support site teams in a “lead from the front” approach to closing out of compliance gaps/findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business support functions to ensure that compliance protocols are understood and followed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes, best practices, and industry trends.
- Provide guidance and hands on training to employees on compliance matters, including the proper handling of hazardous materials, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response protocols, etc.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs, initiatives, and training activities, and make recommendations & implement enhancements or modifications as needed.
- Prepare and submit reports to Account Director on compliance activities, incidents, and mitigation plans.
- Develop and nurture relationships with internal/external auditors, regulators, and industry associations to stay informed of compliance requirements and ensure smooth regulatory interactions.
- Act as the point of contact for any compliance-related inquiries, investigations, or audits and collaborate with internal stakeholders to address and resolve any issues.
- Key point of contact and subject matter expert for requirements relating to Water Safety.
The successful candidate will have/be:
- Sound technical knowledge with a clear understanding of the water industry and treatment elements.
- Experience in a similar role with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Have membership of a professional body e.g. CQI, IIRSM, IOSH, IET, MWM.Soc,etc.
- ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Lead Auditor Certified.
- ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems Internal Auditor Certified.
- NEBOSH diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing and maintaining compliance management systems.
- You will be an expert in the applicable legislation, have hands on experience, and you will be confident liaising with regulators, trade unions and forums.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgments and decisions based on risk assessment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficient with MS applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
