PLEASE NOTE OUR CLIENT IS UNABLE TO OFFER SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
Pearson Whiffin Recruitment is working with a specialist technical organisation delivering large-scale infrastructure and event-led design projects within a highly structured, regulated environment.
This role is focused on high-volume AutoCAD drafting and drawing standardisation. You will be working through a clearly defined process to prepare, update and re-layer drawings to an internal standard, supporting multiple complex projects delivered to fixed timelines.
The Role
- Produce and update CAD drawings for infrastructure and site-based technical projects
- Re-layer and process existing drawings in line with a defined internal CAD standard
- Work through a structured delivery plan for individual projects, each with clear timelines
- Apply consistent drafting methods rather than developing new design concepts
- Review drawings for accuracy, clarity and compliance prior to issue
- Maintain clear file control, versioning and documentation
- Collaborate with engineers and technical stakeholders to interpret requirements
- Potential involvement in survey or data-processing work as the role and team develop
About You
- Strong AutoCAD capability with confidence producing and editing 2D drawings
- Background aligned to infrastructure, civil, structural or technical drafting environments
- Comfortable with repetitive, detailed CAD tasks and high-volume drawing output
- Able to follow defined instructions and processes accurately
- Methodical, detail-oriented and reliable in meeting delivery targets
- Genuinely enjoys CAD drafting and is happy to focus on it for the majority of the working day
- UK-based with permanent Right to Work (role not suitable for sponsorship)
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Graduate or early-career CAD Draftsperson with strong AutoCAD skills and a desire to learn
- OR an experienced CAD professional who enjoys consistent, process-driven drafting work
- Someone who takes pride in accuracy, consistency and well-presented drawings
- Stable, grounded personality comfortable working within a clearly defined scope
- Open to developing into broader technical or data-led work overtime
Important Fit Guidance
This role is not suited to candidates whose experience is predominantly mechanical design with limited CAD exposure, or to individuals seeking rapid progression into leadership roles. The position is delivery-focused, process-led and best suited to candidates who enjoy producing high-quality drawings consistently.
Why Apply?
- Work on technically complex, large-scale infrastructure projects
- Clearly defined scope, structure and expectations
- Opportunity to deepen AutoCAD and technical drafting expertise
- Supportive, detail-focused technical team environment
- Potential to broaden into data-led or survey-related work
