Fantastic opportunity to join an established and successful FMCG business as a Buyer. The purpose of this role is to support the strategic management of commodity purchases as well as other goods and services through effective planning, supplier management and negotiation. This is a highly analytical position requiring the ability to monitor a range of metrics and insights to effectively identify the most profitable actions to take.
Duties include:
- Provide timely and accurate information / data to support the development of the procurement strategy.
- Manage and develop supplier relationships and ongoing negotiations
- Raising, placing and tracking purchase orders
- Extensive monitoring of stock levels, order progressions and usage to ensure material is available when required.
- Provide analytic analysis, including cashflow, currency exposure etc.
- Assess the risks and benefits of terms and conditions, advising the Business.
- Other projects and such tasks as and when required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in the FMCG industry.
- CIPS qualification (desirable not essential)
- Strong Excel skills
- Flexible, reliable, and ambitious
- An excellent communicator with first rate interpersonal skills
