Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the day to day running of our clients busy warehouse operation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in purchasing, stock control, and logistics to take on a varied role combining procurement, inventory management, and operational support. You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure stock availability, supplier coordination, and efficient warehouse processes.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Procurement:
- Manage daily purchasing activities to maintain optimal stock levels
- Raise and process purchase orders in line with internal procedures
- Monitor inventory and reorder stock to avoid shortages or excess
- Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate purchasing records
Inventory & Stock Control
- Maintaining accurate stock records within inventory systems
- Monitoring stock movement, trends, and reorder points
- Supporting regular stock checks and full stock takes
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Assisting with forecasting and stock planning
Warehouse Operations
- Supporting goods receiving, storage, and dispatch
- Checking deliveries against orders and recording accurately
- Ensuring goods are stored safely and efficiently
Supplier & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinating inbound deliveries
- Tracking shipments and resolving issues or delays
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
Team Support and Health & Safety
- Assisting with supervision and task allocation
- Supporting and guiding team members where needed
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures
- Reporting any hazards or incidents
Reporting & Administration
- Preparing purchasing and inventory reports
- Maintaining accurate stock and order records
- Supporting audits and stock reconciliation
Our client is looking for someone with experience in purchasing, inventory management or warehouse operations, who is organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
You will have strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience with inventory systems or ERP platforms would be beneficial, along with a good level of numerical and analytical ability.
