Base Salary: $70,000 – $72,000
Contact: Emily Powell and Sammy Messenger, Pearson Whiffin Recruitment
Pearson Whiffin Recruitment is exclusively partnering with a global, specialist logistics and services organisation to appoint an Assistant Warehouse & Inventory Manager for its Philadelphia operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation — leading from the floor, bringing structure to complexity, and supporting a blue-collar team through change.
You’ll work closely with the Station Manager to help run two nearby warehouse locations, playing a key role in inventory control, people leadership, and day-to-day operational performance.
The Role – What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the Station Manager with the day-to-day running of two Philadelphia sites, overseeing around 14 team members via supervisors
- Taking ownership of warehouse operations and inventory accuracy in a complex, high-SKU environment
- Working heavily with Excel and internal systems, with future exposure to WMS / ERP
- Being a visible, hands-on leader — picking orders, loading trucks, and working alongside the team when required
- Helping improve processes, structure, and clarity of responsibilities across both locations
- Liaising with colleagues and stakeholders across the US, UK, and Europe
- Supporting compliance, quality, and operational discipline in a regulated environment
The Environment
- Blue-collar, straightforward, no-nonsense culture
- Climate-controlled warehouse environment that can be cold near the docks
- Physical role with time on your feet and manual handling
- Post-merger environment with evolving systems and processes
What We’re Looking For

- Comfortable with hands-on, physical warehouse work
- Strong Excel skills and confidence in handling operational data
- Exposure to inventory systems, WMS, ERP, or proprietary platforms
- Experience leading, supervising, or coordinating teams
- Calm, practical, low-ego approach
Nice to Have:
- Degree or relevant certifications
- Experience in cold chain, aviation, or regulated industries
- Forklift experience or certification
