Are you looking to build a long-term career in underwriting within a truly international environment? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing European insurance business where you’ll gain hands-on exposure to complex commercial risks, work closely with senior underwriters, and develop highly sought-after technical expertise.
This role would suit a graduate or early-career professional with a legal, insurance, or property-related background who enjoys analysis, problem-solving and working with clients across multiple jurisdictions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the underwriting of commercial risks across European markets
- Reviewing and summarising case files, preparing information for senior underwriters
- Assisting with policy wording checks and developing a strong understanding of coverage
- Handling new enquiries by phone and email, ensuring a high standard of service
- Maintaining accurate records and keeping internal systems fully up to date
- Building effective working relationships with brokers and clients across Europe
- Contributing ideas to improve processes, service levels and efficiency
- Developing your technical and commercial knowledge through structured training
What we’re looking for:
- A strong academic background (minimum 2:1) or relevant legal, insurance or property qualification
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- A sharp eye for detail with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders in a commercial environment
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage priorities effectively
- Strong customer focus and the ability to build long-term working relationships
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Additional European language skills are advantageous but not essential
